WELCOME TO THE D.H.ROBBINS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LIBRARY

Ms. Karen Johnson-- School Library Media Specialist

Navigation

Our elementary school library classes meet once every week for instruction in information literacy with an emphasis placed on the love of learning.  Using a variety of media sources from picture books to encyclopedias and almanacs, students explore what the library media center has to offer them and learn to apply that information effectively.  The goal of the library program is to create critical thinkers and lifelong learners who appreciate and revel in the vast array of informational resources that are available to them as members of a global twenty-first century information driven society.

Online databases include EBSCO and WorldBook Online.  User names and passwords can be obtained from the library media center.

Book Borrowing Policy

Students may check out library books for one week at a time.

*K-3-- One book a week.

*4-6-- Two books a week.

Students that do not return books on time will not be allowed to check out additional books.

MVLS is the parent site for all the local libraries in the Mohawk Valley area.  With a valid library card, users may access the entire regional catalog, use interlibrary loan to obtain books from member libraries, and utilize the free-of-charge databases offered by the library system.
